Reflections on the Resistance (While They Love You to Death)

What do I see in the revolution
and the Civil War and World War Two
and World War One and the constitutions,
Viet Nam, even Waterloo?

With my good eye witness and dark gray matter
Though their war machine is coordinated
I concentrate through explosive chatter
New belt-fed bullets fully automated

You were air-dropped into this military mission
But they dropped you in your tracks right there
Behind the lines of Isaiah's vision
With their peace there is no peace, anywhere

They took you down at Jerusalem
Their muzzles flashed, they hit the mark
They took you down while you conquered them
Say my good eye witness and gray matter dark

Seconds (Hunger For Hope, 2)

Wall Street ditch the mothers rob and ruin raise up Cain
Resurrect you who are able - unto Cain do not conform
angel voices - bloody ground of Abel choirs slain - regain
hope, abandon mammon - Pay no heed the greedy norm

For all the wheat with water sun light rains down everywhere
As in the daily grinding into flour golden grain
Fields of able seed reveal your bounty brought to bear
As in overflowing yield, baskets full plus twelve remain
